        Yasser is Head of Power at DWF, with a focus on project financing for infrastructure projects, and renewable energy and water projects in particular. 

        Yasser advises sponsors and lenders on infrastructure projects (power/renewable power and water, transportation). Many of the projects he has facilitated the financing for have won awards for the complexity or novelty of the financing involved and/or have set world records for tariffs in the renewable space. Yasser also has extensive experience in general finance and M&A work for financial institutions and other entities. 

        He has worked on projects within the GCC and wider region extending to Africa and South and Central Asia, and has experience of working in both mature and emerging markets. 

        Additionally, he has significant experience in relation to export credit agency and multilateral agency lending, Islamic finance and handles general banking and finance matters as well as acquisition finance and private equity placement.

        • Led the team advising sponsors on the financing for the 1200MW, 100MIGD, AL Dur 2 IWPP at a total cost of approx. US$1.25 billion. The financing mix for this is unique in that it combines, European and Saudi multilaterals, international commercial banks and regional banks utilizing conventional and Islamic facilities. The lending group includes the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), Bank Saudi Franci, Riyad Bank, APICORP, as well as KfW and Standard Chartered lending under Euler Hermes cover. The team was responsible for drafting, negotiating and finalizing with the lenders, all senior conventional finance documentation, Islamic finance documentation, and offshore security documentation.
        • Led the team advising sponsors on the landmark 950MW DEWA CSP Project at a total cost of approx. US$4 billion. The project is the largest solar project currently being financed in the world, has 24-hour dispatch, and employs Solar tower, CSP-trough and PV technologies. The senior lending group includes Natixis, Standard Chartered, ICBC and Bank of China. The team was responsible for drafting, negotiating and finalizing with the lenders, all senior finance documentation, mezzanine documentation and the offshore security documents.
        • Currently leading the team advising on the Askar PV power project in Bahrain involving many of the same banks as in Al Dur 2, such as Riyad Bank, APICORP, Bank Saudi Franci and also now including the Saudi Industrial Development Fund (SIDF) which has taken over from SFD for overseas Saudi development funding.
