Experience

Amanda has particular experience in pensions and insolvency/restructuring and the PPF. She also has experience in litigation from internal disputes up to the Court of Justice of the EU.

Amanda has advised the PPF on some of its highest profile and most complex matters, including the Levy, GMPs and the compensation cap. Amanda has significant experience of pensions-related restructurings, including pre-packs and regulated apportionment arrangements, having acted on many of the high-profile insolvency/restructuring cases involving pensions in the last 10 years.

Amanda has acted on significant contentious matters, including High Court and Court of Appeal cases and is currently acting on a reference to the Court of Justice of the EU. She has acted on a number of cases involving construction/rectification, professional negligence and on ombudsman claims.

Amanda is also experienced in handling scheme mergers (both pooled and sectionalised) and on complex funding structures, including over-funding protection ("escrow-like" arrangements) and ABC arrangements.

She has also been involved in PFI outsourcing and all its derivative forms since 2000, when the very first transactions which allowed participation by external contractors in the Local Government Pension Scheme were negotiated and have experience of a range of public sector (and privatised industry) schemes.

Amanda represented Great Britain at springboard diving (when she was younger!). These days, she enjoys playing with her young twins.
